Public Forum: Why Effective Septic Systems Matter

Posted on April 17th, 2024

Did you know that Michigan is the ONLY state without statewide regulations to prevent septic systems from polluting our waters?

A Public Forum about protecting our health and waters will be held on Thursday April 18, 2024 from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Petoskey District Library Lower Level Classroom.

Anna McGlashen (Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council) and Daniel Thorell (Health Dept. of Northwest Michigan), both experts in septic regulation and the health implications of septic pollution, will provide information on Michigan’s septic situation and current efforts to reduce septic system pollution.

Registration for the event is required and can be done at lwvnlm.org/septic-systems-matter-rsvp.

Additional information can be found on the event flyer or by contacting the Petoskey District Library or League of Women Voters of Northern Lower Michigan.
